Synchronizing the Junk Email Folder via Mailbox Folder Structure Retrieval

Overview

By default, the Mailbox Folder Structure Retrieval skips the Junk E-Mail folder in a mailbox, and therefore, the folder is not synchronized. This article provides the required steps to synchronize the Junk E-Mail folder in GFI Archiver.

Process

IMPORTANT: Please create a backup of any file before editing it.

  1. Open the GFI Archiver web site.

  2. Navigate to Configuration > Mailbox Folder Structure Retrieval.

  3. Determine which protocol is configured (whether it is EWS or MAPI).

  4. Open the ..\GFI\Archiver\Core\Data\ folder.

  5. Depending on which protocol is configured for Mailbox Folder Structure Retrieval, open either of the following files with a text editor, e.g., Notepad:

    • EWS protocolEWSPollingSettings.xml

    • MAPI protocolExPollingSettings.xml

  6. Delete the <int>23</int> line.

  7. Save a close the file.

  8. Restart the GFI Archiver Core Service from the services console.
