Centralizing Data from Multiple GFI EventsManager Servers to a Single Server

Overview

This article provides step-by-step processes on centralizing data from multiple GFI EventsManager servers to a single server.

Note: Database operation jobs must be utilized when centralizing data from multiple GFI EventsManager servers to a single server.

Environment

EventsManager 2012

Process

From each GFI EventsManager server

  1. Choose Configuration > Options.
  2. From Configurations, right-click Database Operations and click Create new job.
  3. Click Next on the wizard welcome screen.
  4. Select Import\Export Job and click Next.
  5. Select Export to file and click Next.
  6. Select the desired location to save exported files to and click Next.
    • Note: This must be a location that can be accessed by the main server.
  7. Select encryption if needed and click Next.
  8. Click Add.
    1. Select the query restriction date.
    2. Choose the field operator Occurred.
    3. Choose the field value Yesterday.
  9. Click OK and click Next.
  10. Select Scheduled job and click Next.

From the main GFI EventsManager server

  1. Choose Configuration > Options.
  2. From Configurations, right-click Database Operations and click Create new job.
  3. Click Next on the wizard welcome screen.
  4. Select Import\Export Job and click Next.
  5. Select Import from file and click Next.
  6. Specify the same path as export configured above.
  7. Decrypt files if needed and click Next.
  8. Click Add.
    1. Select the query restriction date.
    2. Choose the field operator Occurred.
    3. Choose the field value Yesterday.
  9. Click OK and click Next.
  10. Select Scheduled job and click Next.

From each GFI EventsManager server

  1. Choose Configuration > Options.
  2. From Configurations, right-click Database Operations and click Properties.
  3. From the Schedule tab, specify:
    1. Hours of the day during which maintenance jobs can be executed
    2. The interval in hours/days with which maintenance jobs will be executed.
    3. The scheduled date/time when maintenance jobs will start being executed.
  4. Click OK.
