Overview 

This article describes the process to follow when after an update, the below error message is displayed when browsing the interface:

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'WebBrowsingQuota.IWebQuotaService' in the ServiceModel client configuration section.

Process

The current workaround to resolve this is to replace the web.config from the client with a web.config from a Virtual Machine, after making a backup of the original.

Make sure the builds are the same. The web.config is located in \GFI\WebMonitor\WebUI. After making the change, restart the services.

In order to apply a permanent fix, upgrade to GFI WebMonitor 2015 and above.
