Overview

The post-install wizard fails due to date and time settings. After the database setup, the following error appears, and OneGuard is rendered unusable as the administrator cannot get past the post-install wizard.

Failed to persist settings with: the following error occurred while saving settings. The creator of this fault did not specify a reason.

Root Cause

This is a known product limitation where the server only proceeds with the installation if the server date  is in the following format:

M/d/yyyy hh.mm.ss tt

Resolution

Set the date and time on the server in the format M/d/yyyy hh.mm.ss tt.

NOTE:

OneGuard has been declared as End of Engineering (EoE) as such, there are no plans to remediate this defect.

GFI will no longer provide new releases, minor releases, defect logging, or defect fixes for EoE products. You can continue to use EoE products unencumbered and add/subtract user licenses as necessary.

Customer Support will continue to respond to issues and use reasonable efforts to assist you, but no new, tested corrections will be generated. Known problems remain available, and latest versions of software and fixes remain available for download.
