Answer
When the number of users have been exceeded for the GFI FaxMaker license installed, the entire faxing process will halt (Inbound and Outbound). Below is a sample of the report that will be deliverd to the administrator shortly after:
*********************************************************
ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
*********************************************************
Date/Time: 1/17/2012 12:00:19 PM
Description: The FaxMaker fax server has entered standby mode because the number of licensed users/SMS users has exceeded the amount allowed. Please reduce the number of licensed users from the server configuration.
*********************************************************
The configuration does attempt to prevent user limits from being exceeded by two methods listed below:
1) A license with less users than are entered within the configuration will be rejected.
2) Adding additional users or groups will be rejected if it will exceed the license limit. See example of rejection notice below:
"The group was not registered since this would violate license limitations. If you would like to add more users please purchase more licenses"
In the event that the Service Maintenance Agreement has expired, the administrator will receive a notfiication similar to below:
*********************************************************
ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
*********************************************************
Date/Time: 1/16/2012 2:53:03 PM
Description: The GFI FaxMaker maintenance contract has expired.

Unlike exceeding the user limit, if the SMA expires, GFI FaxMaker will continue to process inbound and outbound faxes. The disadvantage is that there will be no technical support from GFI if an issue is encountered until the SMA is renewed.
