How to Identify

Customer installed GFI FaxMaker 2015. The configuration wizard prompts the error message "Failed to initialize user management. Re-install GFI FaxMaker or contact GFI Support" when it goes over the dialog window where a GFI FaxMaker administrator needs to be configured. Canceling the configuration wizard does not help to resolve the issue. When GFI FaxMaker configuration console is opened, then it prompts the same error message and it re-directs to the GFI FaxMaker configuration wizard. Workaround / Fix Details

1. Open the Post Configuration Wizard. 2. In the "Choose Your Fax Hardware Page" page choose "Fax modems". 3. Modems will be detected as before. 4. An error "Failed to initialize user management. Re-install GFI FaxMaker or contact GFI Support" will be shown. 5. Press BACK to go back to the "Other Fax Hardware" page. 6. Continue the normal process. The "Other Fax Hardware" page is a MUST. If this page is skipped the user-management will fail to initialize.
