Overview
When reviewing stats on the router connected to the Exinda the number of dropped packets is incrementing.
This article discusses the possible causes and corrections that can be made on the Exinda to resolve the issue
Root Cause
-
Bad Cable.
-
Bad NIC on either side of the conversation.
-
The Optimizer may be configured with an artificially high bandwidth setting. This is potentially causing a bottleneck at the router's circuit connection which will discard extra packets in some situations.
Resolution
-
Replace the defective cable.
-
Reset and replace the defective NIC.
-
Lower the configured circuit value to match the actually observed circuit capacity (typically seen on the associated interface graph).
