Control Graph not Matching Interfaces Graph

Summary

When looking at the control graph, discrepancies can be noted from the interfaces graph, this is because the interfaces graph show raw information at the ports before it is shaped and the control graph provides the throughput rates post-shaping.

Overview

The Interfaces graph gives a comprehensive byte count and throughput rate of information coming into the various ports of the Exinda. This means that it gets a pre-shaping view of all the information going through the device.
The control graph shows information about how the circuits and virtual circuits and policies are shaping traffic flow, and as a result shows the post-shaping information.

Between the two of these graphs, some discrepancies can arise, due to the shaping nature of the optimizer. Some traffic can come into the port at 13Mbps and exit at 4Mbps due to shaping policies, and as a result, Interfaces will show 13Mbps and the Control graph only 4Mbps. Furthermore, if there are multiple VCs on the same bridge, the Interfaces graphs are simply the byte counts of all traffic passing through the interface, while the Control graph breaks it up based on Virtual Circuit.
