Overview

When deploying patches via relays, many of the patches fail to be implemented, and the following error messages appear in the user interface if the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is configured:

Failed to download xxxPatchNamexxx

Upon checking the Patchagent.log, the following entries are logged:

The downloaded file's size doesn't match the required size (downloaded: 4434544 bytes; Required: 5262848 bytes) for 'C:\Windows\Patches\ace-x-none.msp'. Deleting and failing

NOTE: This happens for Managed Service Provider (MSP) patches which are compressed as a cab file.

Environment

LanGuard 2012 (build 20120717)

Root Cause

This is a product defect which has been resolved in LanGuard 2012 SR1.

Resolution

Download and install the LanGuard patch 20121008 or upgrade to LanGuard 2012 SR1 to resolve this issue.
