Overview

macOS users can use and view the shared calendars or resources using the CalDAV protocol by following a specific procedure. Configuration of Mac Calendar application is done automatically by Kerio Account Assistant (KAA) alongside Mac Mail, Contacts, Notes, and Reminders.

For account Calendar synchronization, KAA uses CalDAV protocol. CalDAV is an internet standard that allows applications such as Apple iCal and Apple Calendar to manage calendar information on a remote server (Kerio Connect).

Prerequisites

Calendar Permissions

To see a shared or resource calendar, you need to have appropriate permissions (Reader, Editor, or Owner). For a shared calendar, the user sharing the calendar configures the permissions in Webmail, as seen in the screenshot below.

Solution

1. Download Kerio Account Assistant for Mac and follow the prompts for adding your profile.
2. Once the profile is added, open the Calendar app.
3. Click on the download icon, as seen in the screenshot below.
4. Click on the Join Calendar button.
   
   
5. (Optional) In order to view Calendar resources, the Resource Permission in Webadmin should be set correctly, i.e. All users from the domain.
   
   The test resource will be available for selection in the Calendar app.
   

Confirmation

You will see the selected shared calendar appears beneath your personal calendar, as seen in the screenshot below.

Note: the Kerio Connect CalDAV implementation does not support adding an attachment or setting visibility in the macOS Calendar app. This feature is only supported in an iCloud account, as seen in the following test screenshots.
