Overview

When trying to set up the Kerio Connect email on Thunderbird for macOS, the error below comes out after entering the username and password.

Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account.

This article provides a solution to the Thunderbird email set up issue for this particular error.

Process

1. From the Thunderbird set up, click Advanced Config from the Set Up an Existing Email Account window.
   
   

1. Enter the following Server Settings for the incoming server (IMAP):
   • Connection security: SSL/TLS
   • Authentication method: Normal password
     
     
     
     
2. For the Outgoing Server (SMTP), you can use the default setting from the list and click Edit.
   
   

1. Configure and enter the necessary settings.
   
   

1. Click Get Certificate to confirm security exception for SSL certificate.
   
   

Confirmation

After confirming the certificate, you should be able to continue setting up your email on Thunderbird.
