Managing Kerio Connect Sync App for Android Devices

Overview

 

The Kerio Connect Sync is a free application available on Google Play. As an alternative to Exchange ActiveSync, the Kerio Connect Sync application for Android devices uses CalDAV and CardDAV to:

  • Synchronize your tasks, calendars, and contacts
  • Synchronize public folders
  • Push notifications to synchronize changes immediately
  • Synchronize calendar colors

This article describes the process to manage the Kerio Connect Sync app by installing the application, configuring and removing accounts, and setting up synchronization intervals.

Process

 

Installing the Application

You can download and install the Kerio Connect Sync app from the Google Play store.

 

Configuring the Account

To start synchronizing, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. On your Android device, open the application Kerio Connect Sync.
  2. Enter your email address and tap Next.
  3. Enter your password and tap Next.
  4. Verify (or type) the server name, your username and password, and tap Sign in.

  5. Confirm the certificate for your server if a warning appears.
  6. Select the task and calendar folders to synchronize with your device and tap Next. You can change the settings any time later.
  7. Select the contact folders to synchronize with your device and tap Finish. You can change the settings any time later.
  8. Tap Done. Kerio Connect Sync is now ready to synchronize your tasks, contacts, and calendars.

Note: You can synchronize tasks, calendars, and contacts from multiple accounts with Kerio Connect sync.

Follow the steps mentioned below to add a new account:

  1. On your Android device, open the Kerio Settings app.
  2. Tap Add account.
  3. Follow the same procedure as described above.

 

Removing Accounts

To delete an account from Kerio Connect Sync, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. On your Android device, open the Kerio Settings app.
  2. Tap Remove account.
  3. Tap the account you want to remove.
  4. Tap OK to confirm the deletion.

 

Turning Off Synchronization

Follow the steps mentioned below to start/stop synchronizing tasks and calendars in general:

  1. Open the Kerio Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Tap your email address.
  3. Select the desired options.

Setting the Synchronization Interval

Kerio Connect Sync synchronizes the folders to your Android device periodically. To set the synchronization interval, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Open the Kerio Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Tap the gear icon next to your email address.

  3. Select Enable Push to immediately receive updates upon change. This option depends on your server settings.
  4. Select the Periodic auto sync option.
  5. Tap Sync interval and select how often to synchronize your account.
