How to Manually Migrate Older MailEssentials MS Access databases to MailEssentials 2015 using Database .NET ( Only)

This guide will show you how to migrate older MailEssentials MS Access WL/AWL/BL into the new ControlLists.sdf of MailEssentials 2015. You will need to download the free version Database .NET here.

• These instructions will work for migrating databases from GFI MailEssentials 2014 and prior.

1. Open the config.mdb/autowhitelist.mdb in MS Access
2. Copy the entire table to an Excel Spreadsheet
3. Remove the ID column entirely
4. Remove the first row with the Email and type
5. Save as a .csv file
6. Run Database4.exe (Database .NET) and open ControlLists.sdf
7. Open the respective table to which you wish to migrate the information:
   1. Right-click on the table
   2. Select Edit > All Rows
8. Right click on the table and select Import
9. On the top right corner of the new window change the delimiter to a comma ( , )
10. Open the .csv file and make sure that the table is filled correctly
11. Click on Insert
12. Repeat for the rest of the tables

Note: The IP Whitelist needs to be migrated separately since they are located in the config.mdb of both versions of GFI MailEssentials.
