Overview

After Public Folder scanning has been enabled and configured to create the IMAP folders on the Microsoft Exchange 2007 server, the following error is encountered when the Test button is hit:

NAMESPACE command is not supported or more than one share namespace is present

Environment

• GFI MailEssentials
• Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

Root Cause

It is not possible to create and publish Public Folders using Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) on Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server. 

Resolution

It is not possible to configure GFI MailEssentials Public Folder scanning using IMAP since Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server does not allow the Public Folders being created over the IMAP protocol.
