Overview

You receive the following error when accessing the Malware Quarantine Options:

Exception Decrypting. Decryption Failed. Key not valid for use in specified state.

Environment

• GFI MailEssentials
• All supported environments

Root Cause

The cause of this error is incorrect or corrupted proxy configuration.

Resolution

1. Stop all GFI MailEssentials Services.
2. Browse to ..\GFI\MailEssentials\Emailsecurity\Data.
3. Open avapicfg.mdb in Microsoft Access.
4. Open the tb_ldapsettings table.
5. Delete the settings from the user and password fields.
6. Delete the contents of proxyuser and proxypw.
7. Close the avapicfg.mdb database.
8. Restart all GFI MailEssentials Services.
