Problem Summary

MailEssentials would count "0" users if installed on an Exchange 2003 Frontend server.

How to Identify

Customer has installed an Exchange 2003 Frontend / Backend server set up. MailEssentials would be installed on the Frontend Exchange server.

Workaround / Fix Details

MailEssentials will always count mailboxes if installed on an Exchange server. Because a Frontend Exchange 2003 server does not have any mailboxes (mailboxes are always located on the Backend Exchange 2003 server) it would also count 0. This is by design. If the customer insists on a solution, please escalate the case.

Required Actions

Explain the reason to the customer. If the customer wants the issue fixed, escalate the case to PSG.
