Viewing Configured Mail Servers

Overview

This article guides users through the process of viewing the configured mail servers, allowing end users to view where mail is being pulled from mail servers or add a new mail server to the configuration for archival from a new server.

Solution

To view configured mail servers from where GFI Archiver archives emails:

  1. Launch the Archiver web console
  2. Select the Configuration tab
  3. Click Mail Servers to Archive.

Use this page to add and configure the mail servers from where you want to archive emails. 

The table below provides a list of available information and options:

Option Description
Journaling Mailbox Journaling Mailbox is the name of the Journal mailbox set up on the mail server and configured for use within GFI Archiver.
Active

Denotes whether the Journal Mailbox is active or not.

Mailbox Server

The machine name of the server which has Journal Mailbox configured.

Mailbox Store

Defines the name of the Mailbox Store to which the configured Journal Mailbox belongs.

Connection Type

Defines the type of connection that GFI Archiver will use to retrieve emails from the mail servers to archive emails.

Each of the options are described below.

Option Description
Add Add a new Journal mailbox
Edit Edit an Existing Journal mailbox
Remove Remove selected Journal mailbox (Connection is removed from configuration)
Activate Activate selected Journal mailbox
Deactivate Deactivate selected Journal mailbox (Mail will not be pulled from Journal but configuration remains in the system)
