Available Options for Configuring GFI Archiver Outlook Connector Group Policy Administrative Template

Overview

This article lists the options you can configure in the GFI Archiver Outlook Connector Group Policy (GPO) Administrative Template.

The GFI Archiver Outlook Connector can be deployed via Active Directory. Further information on how to install GFI Archiver Outlook Connector via Active Directory can be found in the Administrator Guide.

To successfully deploy the GFI Archiver Outlook Connector using Active Directory, you need to configure the Group Policy Template correctly. This article contains the settings which are used during the GFI Archiver Outlook Connector Installation.

 

Information

The GFI Archiver Outlook Connector Group Policy Administrative Template can be found in the GFI Archiver server installation folder:

  • GFI MailArchiver 2014 or newer: ..\InstallationFolder\Client Tools\gfiapps.adm
  • GFI MailArchiver 2013 or older: ..\InstallationFolder\Outlook\gfiapps.adm

The following options are available and configurable in the GFI Archiver Outlook Connector Group Policy Template:

Server Location Required
  • Specifies the GFI Archiver Server URL to which Outlook clients should connect.
Outlook Connector Data Path Root  Optional
  • Specifies the root location where GFI Archiver Outlook Connector should store configuration and local emails on the client machine.
  • The typical location is: C:\Users\<user>\Appdata\Local\GFI\Archiver
Outlook Connector Days Span  Optional
  • Only emails received within the last number of days (from present day) specified here will be accessible through GFI Archiver Outlook Connector.
  • Default Value: 365
Outlook Connector Download Batch Size  Optional
  • GFI Archiver Outlook Connector downloads emails in batches. In this property, you can specify how many emails are synchronized at once. The higher number put pressure on the GFI Archiver server.
  • Default Value: 100
Outlook Connector Connection Timeout Optional
  • Defines the timeout in milliseconds of operation for accessing data from the GFI Archiver server.
    Default Value: 240000 
Outlook Connector Maximum Offline Days Optional
  • Specifies the maximum number of days which a user can set for emails offline access.
  • Default Value: 999 days
Outlook Connector Offline Support Optional
  • Enable or disable offline support. If offline support is enabled, specify the number of days to support offline access.
    • Default Value: Enabled and the number of offline days is set to 30 days. These values can be modified by the user.
    • Note: If this setting is enabled:
      • Users are not allowed to modify offline access.
      • GFI Archiver Outlook Connector maximum offline days setting is ignored.
Outlook Connector Synchronization Delayed Optional
  • Specifies the time in seconds to wait for the first GFI Archiver Outlook Connector synchronization when Outlook is loaded.
Outlook Connector Synchronization Interval Optional
  • Specifies the interval in milliseconds to wait after each GFI Archiver Outlook Connector synchronization.
