This article provides information on the recommended maximum size of a Firebird Database. 

Important Note: Using Firebird-based Archive Stores in a production environment is not recommended. Please use Microsoft SQL instead.

Information

The maximum size of a Firebird Database is 2 GB.

It is possible to exceed this limit. However, real-time scanning software, such as Antivirus or Malware detection, can interrupt regular activity in the database and cause it to exceed size limits. The further a Firebird database grows beyond 2GB, the more likely you are to experience stability issues.
