Emails Not Showing in the Outlook Connector If the Mailbox Contains More Than 100000 Emails

Overview

This article addresses an issue where, upon synchronizing a large mailbox with over 100,000 emails and using a large day span within the Outlook Connector, not all emails are shown in the Outlook Connector.

Information

By default, the Outlook Connector is configured to synchronize and cache a maximum of 100,000 emails. Emails above that value are not shown.

Process

  1. Close all open instances of Microsoft Office Outlook.

  2. Browse to the following paths, depending on your operating system:

    • Microsoft Windows Vista or newer: C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\GFI\Archiver

    • Microsoft Windows XPC:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\ApplicationData\GFI\Archiver

Note: The folder may be named 'MailArchive.'

  3. Open the GeneralSettings.xml file.
  4. Locate the line <MaxMailsInCache>100000</MaxMailsInCache> and increase the value to 999999.

  5. Save the file.

  6. In the same location mentioned in step 2, delete the file named *.fdb (this will be a long alphanumeric name).

  7. Open Microsoft Office Outlook and allow the Outlook Connector synchronization to complete.
