Overview

This article provides the solution to an error you may encounter in the logs when messages are not being archived. 

Information

Messages are not being archived, and the following error is found in the event logs:

Event ID 6204
Source MARCore
Plugin DSScheduler reports exception:
Data Sources: Builder failed
Additional info: No error message available

This error occurs because the exoledb.dll is not registered correctly. This applies to environments where GFI Archiver is installed directly on a Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 Server and is configured to use the ExOleDB protocol to poll emails from the journal mailbox.

Process

1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the Microsoft Exchange installation directory and then into the BIN directory. There should be a file called exoledb.dll in there.
2. From the command prompt re-register the exoledb.dll file by typing: regsvr32 exoledb.dll.
3. Restart all GFI Archiver services.

Confirmation

The message archiving process goes as expected without any errors.
