Overview

This article provides the solution to fix an error message you may encounter when accessing the GFI Archiver UI.

Information

The following error message is displayed when attempting to login to the web interface:

400 Bad Request IIS is not configured to accept requests with just the simple DNS name.

This error appears because the IIS does not have a DNS entry pointing to the user interface of the GFI Archiver server.

Process

To fix this issue, open Internet Explorer and enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the machine hosting GFI Archiver instead of the hostname.

Example:

• Hostname: http://server/Archiver
• FQDN: http://server.domain.com/Archiver

Confirmation

You are able to access the GFI Archiver User Interface successfully.
