Environment

  • GFI Archiver
  • Microsoft SQL server is being used as a database backend with data being stored on a compressed disk

Root Cause

Current Microsoft SQL server versions do not allow to create databases on compressed disks.

Resolution

Configure either Microsoft SQL server or GFI Archiver to create the databases on a non-compressed disk or decompress the current target drive:

  1. Right click the drive and open the Properties.
  2. Uncheck the option Compress this drive to save disk space.
