Overview
The Microsoft Windows feature User Account Control (UAC) can interfere when users use alternative credentials in GFI LanGuard. This article shares the process to prevent this interference by disabling it.
Please note that this process is different from entirely disabling the UAC.
Process
Follow these steps:
- Go to Start > Run > Regedit.
- Browse to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
. - Create a new DWORD 32bit:
LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
and set its value to 1.
Confirmation
Microsoft Windows does not seek additional permission when using alternative credentials in GFI LanGuard.
