Debug Log Files of Kerio Control VPN Client

This article shares information about the debug log files of Kerio Control VPN Client. You can use these files for troubleshooting and communicating VPN client-related issues with the Kerio support team.

Information

Kerio Control VPN Client logs its activity and detected errors. The system service and the application's user interface work separately and generate separate logs. Refer to the following sections to learn more:

 

System Service Logs

The following log files are available for Kerio Control VPN Client Service:

• The error.log file contains critical errors, such as:
  • Kerio Control VPN Client Service failed to start.
  • The VPN server is not available.
  • The user authentication has failed.
• The debug.log file contains detailed information about the activities of the system service and its detected errors.

By default, Kerio VPN Client Service saves the logs in the following locations:

• Windows: C:\Program Files\Kerio\VPN Client\logs
• OS X: /usr/local/kerio/vpnclient/logs

 

User Interface Logs

The following log files are available for Kerio Control VPN Client Interface:

• The error.log file contains critical errors, such as the failure to establish a connection with Kerio VPN Client Service.
• The debug.log file contains detailed information about the activities of the application and its detected errors.

These log files are stored in the home folder of the user (indicated below in bold as 'username') who is using the Kerio Control VPN Client. By default, the following path is used:

• Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Kerio\VpnClient\logs
• OS X: /Users/username/.kerio/vpnclient/logs
