Overview

Password prompt does not show up for the device encrypted using EndPointSecurity, when plugged in, thus leaving the device unusable.

The issue can be reproduced as follows:

1. Plug in an encrypted device and the password prompt is shown.

2. Enter the password and use the device.

3. Remove the USB using Safely remove hardware and unplug the device.

4. Plug the device back in, the password prompt is not shown. When this happens the user can see and access E:\ which has VolumeIgm.DW on it, but F:\ doesn't show up.

Environment

EndPointSecurity 2013 builds 20130408 and older.

Root Cause

The issue is a known issue and is resolved in future updates.

Resolution

The issue detailed previously is resolved in EndPointSecurity 2013 build 20130719. You are suggested to download and install the new update to fix the problem.
