Overview

Following error message is produced while installing the GFI EndPointSecurity:

Failed to copy the files to the remote computer. Could not find a part of the path '\\IP-or-HOSTNAME\C$\Program Files (x86)\GFI\EndPointSecurity 6 Agent\Data\\_policysettings.xml'

Environment

• GFI EndPoint Security 2013 build 20130719

Root Cause

The agent is removed manually and is unable to be removed through the GFI EndPoint Security 2013 Console, hence unable to locate agent files to reinstall the agent

Resolution

To resolve the error detailed previously, Install the agent manually on the client computer showing this error message, using the following steps:

1. Navigate to the following folder for GFI EndPointSecurity :

   C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\EndPointSecurity 6\Agent\

2. Copy the EndPointSecurityAgent.msi to the client computer.

3. Login on the client computer and install EndPointSecurity agent by executing the installer as an administrator.

4. Update the agent settings over GFI EndpointSecurity Console.
