Overview

When trying to uninstall a GFI EndPointSecurity agent from a remote machine, the following error message is displayed:

Agent pending uninstall

Environment

• GFI EndPoint Security 2013 Build 20130719

Root Cause

The Remote Registry Service is disabled.

Resolution

To resolve the error discussed previously, Remote Registry Service needs to be enabled to remove the relevant registry keys from the remote machine.

Follow the steps mentioned below to enable the Remote Registry Service, implement the measures listed below:

1. Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Run window under Start menu.

   

2. Navigate to File > Connect Network Registry and Enter IP of the agent machine.

   

3. Ensure that the Remote Registry service and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) are running on the target machine.
