Creating a New Database in GFI EventsManager

Overview

This article provides a step-by-step process on creating a new database in GFI EventsManager.

Process

To create a new backend database in GFI EventsManager version 2012, please do the following:

  1. Open the GFI EventsManager Console and navigate to Configuration > Options > File Storage.
  2. Click Configuration File Storage
  3. Change the Name and Path of the database to reflect the new database you wish to start.
  4. Check the Encryption option and password if you wish to encrypt the new database (optional).
  5. Click Apply and OK.

The new database will now be created and all new events will be stored to the new location.

To create a new backend database in GFI EventsManager version 2013, please do the following:

  1. Open the GFI EventsManager Console and navigate to Configuration > Options > File Storage.
  2. Click Configure File Storage.
  3. Create a New folder. Choose the location and then click OK.
  4. Click the New button and choose a name for the new database.
  5. Click OK to create.
