Overview

This article provides information on the different types of notification alerts that you can use in GFI EventsManager.

Information

GFI EventsManager supports the following alerting options:

• Email Alerts
  Send a notification message by email. To use this alerting method, GFI EventsManager must have access to an active SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server. Refer to the article Setting Up Email Alerts in GFI EventsManager for more details.
  
  
• SMS Alerts
  Send a notification message through an SMS gateway. To use this alerting method, GFI EventsManager must have access to a utility with SMS gateway capabilities such as GFI FaxMaker. You can also use an email-to-SMS web-based SMS gateway such as Clickatell. • Network Alerts
  Send a network message using the net send protocol to one or more target computers. The message will appear as a pop-up window on the target machines.
