Gathering the Troubleshooter Logging for GFI ReportCenter

Overview

This article provides the steps to gather the troubleshooter logging for GFI ReportCenter.

Process

It is recommended that the following instructions should be performed when requested by a GFI Technical Support Representative. If you do not have an open case, please submit a request at GFISupport.
Please follow these steps to provide the needed information to isolate the issue:
  1. Answer the questions sent by the troubleshooter as accurately as possible.
  2. The troubleshooter files can be generated from the ReportCenter troubleshooter program that can be found in the GFI ReportCenter program group. Once the troubleshooter program is finished, it will create a number of files in the Program Files\Common Files\GFI\ReportCenter\Framework v3.5\support directory.
    NOTE: Please compress all files into one zip file.
  3. Zip the folder.
  4. Upload the file to our FTP server:
    • Log in to the FTP server. If there are many files and folders, right-click on the page and choose Logon As..., and enter the following credentials:
      1. Host: ftp://ftp.gfisoftware.com
      2. User: gfi
      3. Pass: gfi911cust
      4. If using Internet Explorer, enter- ftp://gfi:gfi911cust@ftp.gfisoftware.com
  5. Copy and paste the file in the page.
  6. Reply to the case email with the exact FILENAME uploaded.
