Overview

The Brooktrout SR140 is a Fax over IP (FoIP) device that works with FaxMaker to send faxes in a network environment.  Support for multiple gateways for outbound faxing has not been possible until more recent versions of the Brooktrout driver.

A Brooktrout SR140 device will be able to take any inbound calls regardless of the source.

The SR140 has started support for sending the faxes over multiple gateways in the FaxMaker version 18 (which contains Dialogic driver build 6.7.5). The support for multiple gateways was introduced in Dialogic build 6.7.4.

In the image below, we can see each of the primary gateways that can be configured. These gateways are set as backups to the primary gateway.  SIP OPTIONS messages are used to determine the state of the connections and the usability of the gateway.
