Error: "Failed to update user <user@email.com>, error code: 801" When Updating User Parameters

Overview

You might experience some issues when trying to change specific user parameters such as increasing mailbox limit size, quotas, changing rights in the Kerio Connect Administration menu. The Webadmin might return Failed to update user <username>, internal database error.

The warning log can generate the following entry:

[04/Sep/2019 14:18:18] Cannot update user <user@domain>, error code: 801.

Prerequisites

 


 

Process

Note: All users coming from the Active Directory must be updated within the AD itself. 

 

  1. Log in to AD and go to Users and Computers.
  2. Open the properties for the user in question.

  3. Click the Kerio Connect Account tab (we will update the Mailbox Limits as an example).

  4. Click Mailbox Limits and set the desired limit here.

  5. Click OK > Apply.

  6. Click OK to close the User Properties window.

  7. Now check if the changes are reflected in the Kerio Connect Webadmin UI.

The user parameters will be saved correctly.

 

Additional Steps

If the issue still persists even after following the steps given above, uninstall the KADE in AD and install an older version of KADE (attached).
