Problem Summary

When upgrading, the BlockByAssocExceptions key is overwritten, thus wiping out any customizations made which could interfere with attachment filtering.

How to Identify

The key that is overwritten will be this one: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GFI\MailEssentials\EmailSecurity\Engines\AttachChecker\BlockByAssocExceptions] It is used to modify file associations in the attachment filtering to work around false positives.

Workaround / Fix Details

At this time the only workaround is to manually add the values again. This should be fixed in SR4.
