Problem Summary

When a customer has Advanced content filter rules enabled the GFIscanm.exe will have a memory leak until restarting the service.

How to Identify

GFIscanm.exe service will continue to grow in memory usage when Advanced filter rules are enabled. (Memory Usage is normally under 400,000kb depending on how many Virus scanning engines are enabled) Some symptoms that are caused by this service growing -Definition updates continue to fail on the Virus engines (BitDefender and Vipre) -GFIScanm.exe is running above 600,000kb until the customer restarts the gfiscanm.exe service Some rules that can cause the following symtoms -Blank Sender Rule - Condition drop down - Header - Contains <> Rule 2 -Condition Headers - Contains (++++++++
