'Error D3 Could Not Find File' When Moving the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine Database to a Mapped Drive

Overview

When trying to move the GFI MailEssentials Quarantine database to a mapped drive, you get the following error when loading the configuration webpage:

Error Code: D3
Details: Could not find file 'X:\Spam quarantine\quarantine.edb'

Note: X refers to the mapped drive letter.

Environment

  • GFI MailEssentials
  • All supported environments

Root Cause

GFI MailEssentials does not support moving the quarantine database to mapped drives or shared Universal Naming Convention (UNC) paths.

Resolution

Use a local path such as C:\Program Files\GFI\MailEssentials\Quarantine.
