Error: 'Failed to connect to an IPC Port: Access is denied' is found in logs when GFI Archiver is not archiving emails ( ONLY)

PROBLEM

GFI Archiver is not downloading e-mails from the journal. The log at ..\GFI\Archiver\Core\Logsubmit2.log is showing the following error:
 
"warning","LogSubmit2","warning: external .NET remoting error, retry required: System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: Access is denied. 

ENVIRONMENT

  • GFI Archiver
  • Non role base deployments only
SOLUTION
 
From services.msc, check the GFI Archiver services. Make sure that the credentials are set to Local System and not to a domain admin or any other user.

CAUSE

The GFI Archiver services should run under Local System.
