Answer
GFI Archiver can be installed in a forest environment.
In order to have GFI Archiver work in an Active Directory forest environment and be able to archive mails for users in more than one Active Directory domain in the forest, it is necessary to ensure the following:
- The Active Directory domain where GFI Archiver is installed has full access to the rest of the Active Directory domains in the forest.
- To use Access Groups (Configuration > Access Control) you need to ensure that the groups you want to manage belong to the same Active Directory domain where GFI Archiver is installed. It is recommended to use Domain Local and Universal security groups since only these types of security groups may contain accounts external to the domain.
