Overview

This error is observed when a user is performing a LanGuard update. The packages may download but this error is displayed and installation cannot complete.

Error downloading File. Failed to validate integrity of the file.

Requirements

Administrative access to the update folder.

Root Cause

There are old packages in the update folder that need to be cleared out so that the newer versions only are installed.

Resolution

WARNING! index.txt and index_foragent.txt file must not be deleted in the first step.

1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\GFI\LanGuard 12\Update.

2. Create a new folder on your desktop and copy this data to the new folder.

3. Then delete the contents of the ...\LanGuard 12\Update folder except for the index.txt and index_foragent.txt file.

4. Then try the update again by doing the following:
   
   Navigate to the Configuration tab > Program Updates > Check for updates > Click Next > Select the checkbox at the bottom for update all > Finish.
   
   

Validation

LanGuard update is executed successfully.
