Overview

This article shares the process for disabling Network Discovery in GFI LanGuard.

 

Process

Follow these steps to disable the automatic network discovery:

1. Open the GFI LanGuard console.
2. Navigate to the Dashboard tab.
3. Right-click the group on the left pane for which the feature should be disabled.
4. Select Properties.
5. Go to the Network Discovery tab.
6. Uncheck the box Check automatically for new machines in this group.

Follow these steps to disable the Network Discovery feature for the entire network:

1. Open the GFI LanGuard console.
2. Navigate to the Dashboard tab.
3. Right-click the group on the left pane for which the feature should be disabled.
4. Select Properties.
5. Select the top-level folder named Local Domain.
6. Go to the Network Discovery tab.
7. Uncheck the box Check automatically for new machines in this group.
