Internet Explorer Language Changes After Deploying a Newer Version with GFI LanGuard

Overview

Internet Explorer language switches from a non-English language to English after deploying a newer version of IE with GFI LanGuard.

This can be reproduced by deploying a new version of Internet Explorer in a non-English OS (Operating System). After the deployment, the OS remains in the same language but language changes within Internet Explorer.

Environment

LanGuard 2014 and newer.

Resolution

  1. Rescan the machine after IE upgrade and apply language pack if offered.
  2. Manually download the language pack and deploy using the custom software deployment function.
