PROBLEM

GFI LanGuard shows OVAL vulnerabilities for old versions of Adobe Flash Player, even though the newest version is installed


 

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI LanGuard
• All supported environment

SOLUTION

Search for and delete old Flash_<version>.ocx files in the following locations and delete them:

1. C:\Windows\System32\Macromed
2. C\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\

Then re-scan the affected computer.

CAUSE

The Adobe Flash installer sometimes leaves behind old version of ocx files.
