Scanning hangs at 'Enumerating Computers' and no results are showing

Problem Summary

Scanning computer hangs while it shows 'enumerating computers' and no results are displayed.

How to Identify

Scanning fails for all computers. Risk assessment scan will also not start. Trying with IP address makes no difference. The process stays running till the service is restarted or the computer rebooted.

Workaround / Fix Details

1. Stop the GFI EndPointSecurity Service 2. Navigate to ..\GFI\EndPointSecurity 6\Data 3. Open the file toolcfg_autoprotectsettings.xml with notepad 4. Search these two keys: 41466,0006365741 41454.000669456 Both of them should have a "dot" as separator - if you find a comma like in the DiscoveryStart line above, change it for a dot 5. Save the changes 6. Restart the service

Apply the workaround above. A permanent fix will be available on the future via autoupdates.
