Generating a Report Gets Stuck at Get Main Report Records from Database

Overview

Users experiment getting stuck at the Get main report records from database... screen when generating a report via the ReportPack.

Environment

  • EventsManager 8
  • EventsManager 2010
  • EventsManager 2011
  • Any Supported Environment

Root Cause

Running a report without filters against a large database includes too much data and will most likely not be successful.

Resolution

  • Ensure that sufficient resources (CPU, RAM, etc.) are available on the host running the ReportPack as well as on the SQL server.
  • Ensure to use filter criteria (e.g., a shorter date/time range) to limit the results of the report.
