Overview

The sender encounters the error code 'C-0007' when trying to send a fax using GFI FaxMaker client.

Environment

• GFI FaxMaker
• Microsoft Exchange server
• All supported environments

Root Cause

Another SMTP connector uses the 'port 25'; hence fax emails cannot be delivered to the GFI FaxMaker server.

Resolution

• Change the SMTP port of the Email2Fax gateway in the GFI FaxMaker configuration to 'port 26'.
  1. Open the FaxMaker configuration.
  2. Select Email2Fax Gateway.
  3. Open the Properties.
  4. Change the 'port' to '26'.
  5. Exit with OK.

• Change the SMTP port on the GFI FaxMaker receive connector on the Microsoft Exchange server to '26'.
  1. Open the Microsoft Exchange Management Console.
  2. Navigate to the Server Hub Transport role.
  3. Right-click, the GFI FaxMaker receive connector and select the Properties.
  4. Open the Network tab.
  5. Edit the 'port' of the 'local IP addresses' to receive to '26'.
  6. Exit with OK.

• Change the SMTP port of all GFI FaxMaker clients to 'port 26'.
  • Open the GFI FaxMaker Client Message Form.
  • Select the Options and open the Connection Settings tab.
  • Change the 'port' to '26'.
  • Exit with OK.

Confirmation

The fax is sent successfully using the GFI FaxMaker client.
