PROBLEM

GFI FaxMaker fails to process FMD files. The log file indicates the following error:

Failed to create instance of xml document. [0x80040154]

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI FaxMaker
• All supported environments

SOLUTION

1. Open a command prompt (Start > Run > type cmd.exe and press Enter)
2. Change directory to the C:\Windows\system32 folder
3. Type the following commands to register these DLL files:

• regsvr32 msxml3.dll
• regsvr32 msxml4.dll 

1. Reboot the server

CAUSE

One or more Microsoft dynamic link library (DLL) files are incorrectly registered.
