D-04582 - WMD crashing

Overview

WMD crashes causing slight interruptions in accelerated traffic.

Log messages have the following error
[wmd.ERR]: [util::exception::tag_msg*] = hash:E3EEB4D6A79CBF7B remote_sys:4 remote_hostid:90b11c55c063 age:20526 {sync_recv_update@codec/Cache.cpp:997}

The system generates dumps and snapshots for wmd

Cause

The wmd distributed database is out of sync on one (or more) systems.More often than not the system that crashes is *not* the one with the incorrect database - it is usually the system sending data to it

While the distributed database remains out sync this crash will happen for every transfer of the data that triggered this

Workaround

Step 1 - stop Wan Memory on all devices

service wm stop

Step 2 - Clear Persistence and WM Cache on all the device

acceleration wm persistence clear
acceleration wm cache clear

Step 3 - Now after doing the above on all the devices, start the process Wan Memory

service wm start

Resolution

This is going to be fixed in 7.0.4
