Overview

Upgrading to GFI MailEssentials 20.2 fails due to the web.config file. The following errors are found in the installation log:

GFI MailEssentials 20.2.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in GFI MailEssentials 20.3 Build 20170321. Upgrade to this version or implement the following workaround:

1. Delete the following file: ...GFI\MailEssentials\EmailSecurity\wwwrss\Web.config
2. Attempt the upgrade again.
