PROBLEM

GFI MailEssentials requests to install the .NET 4.0 Full Profile version.

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI MailEssentials 
• previously installed .NET 4.0 client version

SOLUTION

Two versions of .NET 4.0 are available and can be installed. The full version and the client version.

1. The Full Profile version can be found here as dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718
2. The Client version can be found here as dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24872

CAUSE

Two versions of .NET 4.0 are available and can be installed. The Client version will work with GFI MailEssentials, but the installation will request to install the Full Profile version by default.
