Problem Summary

When upgrading from previous versions of GFI MailEssentials 2014 R2, the product is switching to grace period since it finds more users. Issue is that there is a missing registry key as in the attached domaincount.reg.

How to Identify

Customers are getting placed in a grace period after the license count is querying the domain email address and the .local account address. -Some symtoms would include double the amount of counted users than that they are licensed for -you can still perform the lookup to verify by following the article: http://kb.gfi.com/articles/SkyNet_Article/How-to-check-the-number-of-licenses-MailEssentials-queries?retURL=%2Fapex%2FSupportHome&popup=true -Check the usercntvsapi.txt log located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Attendant\debuglogs location. See if it references .local addresses.
